For me, it's too much. I can't imagine calling "Seraphine!" in a crowded supermarket. It would make me feel like a jackass.

I wouldn't mind calling it in a crowded supermarket. But I grew up with an Aristoteles, a Ceridwen and people named Cambrie, Agatha, Mylene, Aquinnah and Clarity so from my experience very unusual names can work well in real life.

That is so funny and so true. I feel that way about a lot of the more uncommon names mentioned on this board, even the ones I like.
