[Opinions] Seraphine

I think it's beautiful and that it's perfectly usable. I prefer Seraphine.
It's too much. Makes a nice middle name. Serafina seems nicer to me, too. I personally might not like it even if I did really enjoy the sounds in it, just because of the meaning.
Gorgeous!
I love both, but I think I prefer the slightly more mature and elegant sounding Seraphine. But I really do love both, and think both are perfectly useable at not too much at all.

Serafina > Seraphine > Seraphina for me. I would name my daughter Serafina, I don't care if people find it frilly, I like the meaning and the sound and I don't really see what's wrong with calling Serafina in a grocery store? Sounds fine to me. Seraphine is alright, mine use it as a middle name but the ph with Seraphina just seems overkill to me.
I like Seraphine and although said aloud Seraphina is probably far too much, I have a huge soft spot for Serafina written down. It's sparky. I like. Anyway, I do really like Seraphine, and although I prefer it as a middle name it's also lovely as a first name and has a couple of nickname options, like Sera and Seph.
I don't agree that you'd feel like a "jackass" shouting "Seraphine!" in the supermarket, I really don't... but then I do have a very frilly name myself. Also, I'm more the type to glower and hiss rather than bellow, as is just about everyone I've ever been told off by, so I think shouting anyone's name in a public place would be painfully awkward... but once again, that's my personal experience speaking. For me, shouting "Seraphine!" is no worse than shouting "Anna!"... both are awkward... and in a non-shouting environment, Seraphine is certainly one of the prettier names going, I think.

I can't picture a real, ordinary person being named either one. It's very much a fantasy-novel name in my mind. Also, Seraphine sounds like some kind of food wrap you cover your dishes with.
I wouldn't mind calling it in a crowded supermarket. But I grew up with an Aristoteles, a Ceridwen and people named Cambrie, Agatha, Mylene, Aquinnah and Clarity so from my experience very unusual names can work well in real life.

That is so funny and so true. I feel that way about a lot of the more uncommon names mentioned on this board, even the ones I like.
