Rant: I hate the Y in
Cayden. To me, the name is spelled
CADEN, and every other spelling is kree8yv and miss-the-mark. Spelling it
Cayden is, to me, like spelling
Noah "Nowah" or
Jacob "
Jaycob" ... the extra letter is superfluous and seems to say, "I am too dumb to pronounce this name without brute force cues, and of course, you are too."
I feel the same about
Aidan, which is a name that does not have any E in it, never has and never will. What the hell is "
Aiden" - it looks like an error to me.
Spelling it with a K makes it worse because c to k changes always look like gimmicks to me. Krispy Kreme, Keystone Kops, Kangaroo Kourt, Kamper Korner, Kool Kars, Kwik Kopy, Chicken in a Biskit ....
Kayden.
I think
Caden is a decent modern name. It's no more trendy than
Jayden or
Mason or
Chase or even
Liam, IMO. I think it suffers less from the air of mediocrity that trendy names have, than
Jayden or
Chase does. Or even
Madison. It's about as trendy as
Hayley.
I have run across one
Caden at some point, but I can't remember who he was, and I know a Keiden who is age 6 (whose mother's native language is Japanese, so I'm more inclined to be okay with his spelling of it).
