Cephas, like its Greek counterpart, Peter, means "stone" or "rock". "Ceph" means "head" or "brain", apparently, in medical terminology, but then it's part of a longer word. It's not like Cephas means "head" or "brain", but even if it did, I don't see how that meaning is so much worse than "stone" or "rock".
I don't see how the meaning renders it unusable. I think it's perfectly usable.
