I always said it like: ISLE ennui. I spent some time looking up Welsh pronunciation and thought that this seems passable, and natural for me.
I adored that name when I read the books, and I still do, although I probably wouldn't use it - it's
too Welsh for me. I've adopted the name Eily in its place. I'm glad someone else has picked up on Eilonwy!
AFAIK, it was invented by
Lloyd Alexander. Anyone know if I'm right or wrong?
