[Opinions] Ryan
It's one of my old favorites for a boy, a bit on the common side but not in a "bad" way IMO. WDTYO Ryan?

Ryan: It's Been a Long Time Coming
Previously, for the length of my existence, I was one of the people who loathed the very essence of the name Ryan... but I am now comfortably able to announce that tiny flower-buds of promise have begun to bloom. It is a name that must be spoken and heard to gain admiration; I still can barely bring myself to read it, confessedly.Ryan, masculine, I approve of; Ryanne (or other hideous 'kre8tiv' versions), feminine, is terribly bothersome.- Francesca

I think it sounds nice. Not a first round pick for me, but nice enough. Generally usable... Def. preferable to Ethan, Aiden, mis-spellings of Jadon, Kaden, etc.

I like the appeal of Ryan.
It's strong without being macho and it's tender without being sissy.
I like the -an ending on a lot of names and this one has that bonus.
It's simple to pronounce, spell and remember.
I can see this one easily finding its way into the classics category next to Alex and Peter.

It's a family name for me, so I can't think of it as bad. I guess I find it a bit bland but maybe that's because I know so many Ryan and Brians??? I also dislike that people started using this for girls. I don't think it's girly at all, but once something goes unisex, I have a really hard time using it for a boy.Putting aside the unisex and common usage in my age group thing: I do like the name. I would probably prefer to see it in the middle though.

It's okay. It feels dated to the 90s though.

It's a nice name and I like the sound. While not an unusual name, I can't actually say that I know any Ryan(s).

I like it. It's common and I wouldn't use it myself because it has too many associations for me (both good and bad), but it's one of the popular names that I like. I'd put it in a category with Aidan, Liam, Sean, Gavin, Ben, Conor, Dylan, etc. and not Wyatt, Brett, Josh, Justin, etc. They're basically the same level of being popular boys names, but Ryan is one that gives me a better vibe than the others. If I did decide to use it ever, I'd make sure to give it a longer and less common middle name.
