[Opinions] Rain
Had to make a seperate thread for Rain, I just have too many questions about it.
WDYTO Rain?
Do you like the nn Rainie?
Do you know anyone named Rain?
Do you think it's a depressing/unhappy name?
How would you spell it? Rain Raine Rayne Rayn Reign?
Surprisingly I know quite a few people named this. A girl named Raine, boys named Rayne and Rain, a girl named Reign, one named Rain and a girl named Rainey.
Do the different spellings give you different images or colors? Rain gives me a very dark blue color whereas Raine is lighter.
What would a Rain be like and what would her parents be like?

WDYTO Rain? I like it, it's simple but interesting.
Do you like the nn Rainie? No, but I like Reina.
Do you know anyone named Rain? No unfortunately.
Do you think it's a depressing/unhappy name? No, but I can see why others might.
How would you spell it? Rain Raine Rayne Rayn Reign? I prefer simple Rain. Anything with a 'y' or 'g' in is trendy and horrible. Raine is fine.
Do the different spellings give you different images or colors? Not really; Reign seems more regal.
What would a Rain be like and what would her parents be like?
Some would make hippy associations I guess.

I've always had a soft spot for the name Rain. I think Rainy makes a very cute nn and I prefer that spelling.
I don't know of anyone with this name and I find it quite a happy, cheerful type of name actually, not depressing at all.
Rain is the only spelling I like.
I don't actually see different colours, because of the different spelling variations.
I also don't get a definite idea of what someone with this name would be like.

Sorry, but when I first read 'Rain', I had to think about Rising American Indian Nations, an organization here in Utah.
Not sure if I would like it as a name for a person.

I love Rain!
I like Rainie (or Rainey / Rainy).
I don't know any.
I don't think it's depressing/unhappy. It's calm and beautiful. It's more "happy" to me, because it makes me think of a girl dancing in the rain...
I like Rain and Raine best. I know a girl named Rayne. I'd use Reign on a male character, but not on a girl or IRL. The "g" makes it look like a male name, and also it's a different word and the main reason I like Rain as a name is because of, well, rain.

I love Rain, it's my DD's middle name and I sometimes wish I had used it for a first for another child.
No, I don't like Rainie, but I guess as a nickname it's cute.
I know one other person with the middle name Rayne.
I don't think it's depressing, it's an important symbol and image for me in my poetry. It is also representative of Scotland for me in my DD's name. It's where we lived until recently and the first place I felt at home in.
I don't often see colours with names, but Rain for me is silvery gray. I don't really get that from the other spellings.
I don't associate personalities with names.

It's a good name, I like Nature names.
Rainie..probably not a great nick-name, but one I at least would likely use, I tend to "ie" names.
I don't know anyone named Rain, but that might be due to where I live.(French-speaking area.)
Not at all a depressing name!Rain is often welcomed!
I would spell it Raine.
