1. I think it's boring, but then, I know a bunch of elementary school age. Maybe it's just because I'm Catholic, but I honestly don't see why people act like
Mary's a forgotten classic--it's alive and well.
2. No, I don't. It's way too popular, and it's a shame so many people name their daughters by it when there are much more interesting choices.
3. It all depends on your feelings for the names. Do you like both
Mary and
Molly? If so, then I'd use
Molly as a nickname rather than a full name. If you're not a big fan of
Mary,
Molly's established enough that you could just use that.
4. If it's a family name for you, that makes it good in my eyes. If it was just one you'd pulled out of the air as an idea, I would've nixed it.
Mary Elizabeth has got to be one of the most boring combos on the face of the planet.
5. Something else that's considered classic, I suppose. Personally, I'd pair it with a saint's name, because
Mary sounds holy to me. I like
Clara,
Louisa,
Louise,
Katharine,
Bernadette,
Flora,
Teresa,
Heidi,
Bridget,
Anne,
Diana,
Pamela, and
Esther with it. Would any of those work?

The dogs on main street howl
`Cause they understand
If I could take one moment into my hands
Mister, I ain't a boy--no I'm a man,
And I believe in a promised land.
