I love Mara. My cousin Anna almost was named Mara. But her father didn't care much for the name. My aunt wanted her to be Mara and my uncle wanted her to be Michelle. I don't know how they got there but they named her Anna Elizabeth. Elizabeth is her mn.
I agree Mara always seems like a fiery name to me of a passionate person. I agree with everything you feel about it. Probably because it reminds me of the Star Wars character Mara Jade who eventually marries Luke Skywalker. Maybe since she is a red head I always think of it suiting someone with dark red hair. Or I see it for someone with black, dark brunette or dark blonde hair.
I like Mara Amelia. Mara Amira is a little too matchy unfortunately. I like Mara Catherina.
