[Opinions] Re: Wendy
in reply to a message by Pie
We do have them, but we don't call them "Wendy houses" (I had to look that up!), we call them play houses. I like Wendy as a nn for Wednesday (since Wednesday sounds like "wensday"). I knew a kind of unpleasant Wendy as a child so I still shy away from it a bit because of that, also it is a tad on the odd-and-dated side around here. But I do so want to appreciate it because it has a vaguely witchy vibe. It makes me think of yelling children and aggressive cheerfulness (probably a subconcious melding of the food company "Wendy's" logo and Pippi Longstocking).Someone on the board once came up with the combo of Wendy Saskia, which I thought was so bad that it stuck with me forever and ever and now I just love it. It's so abrupt and weird, just the way both Wendy and Saskia tend to be.Other ideas:Wendy Rosalind
Wendy Cordelia
Wendy Hazel
Wendy Susan
Wendy Juniper
Wendy Lucille
Wendy Rosebud
Wendy Demelza
Wendy Marilou
Wendy Angelica
Wendy Liza
Wendy Lulu
Wendy RamonaSomething about Wendy makes me want to go totally overboard and creative and just, like, throw paint around, so that's actually got me liking it more! It seems very...unabashed. Outgoing, outspoken, and screechingly happy and messy.ok fine now I've totally got a crush on it too

i think of the fast food joint Wendy's. that sort of spoils the name for me. i think it's a ghetto name. and the name Wednesday has a witchy sound to me as well because of the Adam's Family tv show. also because Bridget Marquart's black dog is named Wednesday. i am not sure about a day of the week used as a name for a person?
