Ugh, I like Maya but I can't stand Mya. It looks like a trendy, celebrity-inspired shootoff of Mya.

I pronounce Maya and Mya the same way -- I've never seen Mya pronounced like Mia.

Thanks for the input. I've actually met a Mya whose mother pronounced it "MEE-uh." But it's helpful to know how the majority is pronouncing it.

Makes sense. Mia is popular and common. Lets make it more yunneeque and change the I to a Y. Isn't that how we do it these days?

*shurgs* I'd say it the same as Maya/Maia/Maja, but I can see how people get there from Mia. And thatsa big reason why I hate the Mya spelling.
