My daughter's name!So naturally I LOVE it! :) She's 11 months old, and it fits her to a tee - sweet, sassy, spunky...I love the simplicity of it, and yet at the same time the name has so much personality.

I love it. It's spunky, and kind of ugly-cute.

Great name

I just automatically associate this name with grandmothers. I can't see it at all on anyone young.

I read a book as a teen..."Stories from my grandmother's attic" or something like that. It was a really sweet book in which the really sweet grandmother was named Mabel. I love it for that reason - but have a really hard time picturing it on a younger person or child.

I love the name Mabel. It's so cute. I just worry that people irl will say it's an elderly name. :(

I love it, it's sweet and should make a comeback. If she'd find it too dated she could even go by Belle or Bella. Mabel is so sweet, I like it a lot better than Maybelle. I also like Amabel.

This is definitely the best spelling. Maybelle looks hickish and frilly. Unfortunately my first thought when I see Mabel is that there used to be a Blue Peter dog called Mabel! Apart from that, (and I think very few people would think of that!) it's a great name.
I consider it along the same lines as Hazel, which I also like a lot. Hazel is used on people of all ages so I don't see why Mabel can't be too!

I like it very much, and logically it should be a good choice for a modern baby. Other names of its generation have come back with a bang!My primary school principal was Zoe Mabel Lastname. A lady ahead of her time.

Maeve + Isabel, Annabel, etc. minus all the extras = Mabel. Should be popular, my guess is that it's too simple to interest anyone who loves longer, more exotic, or more flowery names. My dh's grandmother was Mabel, born to Swedish parents who immigrated to the US. I tend to equate it with Hazel in terms of mood and sound, I prefer Hazel, but really like them both.

Really? Hazel and Mabel same in mood and sound? Mabel seems cute and sweet and ladylike while Hazel is more army sargeant or cafeteria lady image-wise in my mind... and I'm ok w/ both names. They just have very different images to me.

It's ok. Doesn't excite me, but would be almost refreshing to see on a little one among the plethora of Emmaas, Emilys, Lilys, Sophias, etc. I have a friend named Mavelle (mah-vel) from Mexico whose name also means lovable, so I'm guessing that may be a variant. I do like Mavelle better, but Mabel's not bad... I think Mavelle might be easier for a small child to pull off because it would have less of an old lady stigma on it.

I like the name a lot. It's sweet and cute, will age well and would be so refreshing on a little girl these days.

I love it but I think many people don't which is kinda sad because it's so beautiful.
