What do you mean by "could work"? As in, would people be able to pronounce it? I bet they could figure it out: they may have seen the word somewhere before. :)
It reminds of of some of the "English names" people have chosen when they move to North America from China. I've met a Whisky, a Dido, a Stone. My understanding is they just picked an English word that they liked the sound of, regardless of whether it already had a meaning or association.
ie, If you don't mind that everyone who meets your child would think of the running shoe brand name, then go for it. The kid might get tired of the comments though: "Nike, like the brand name?" could get old.
