[Opinions] Nike

Yes it could.
I absolutely think it could! People will learn how to pronounce it and, if not, she will learn how to correct them. People will get over the fact that she shares her name with a brand and will also learn that she shares her name with a Greek goddess. I like it. :D

I think it's too closely tied to the shoe brand, unfortunately. The shoes are very popular and well-known, so people would be bound to bring up the association on a frequent basis.
I really don't think it could work. For a start I think the sports brand ruins it, and also makes it seem more masculine. Also I think people would pronounce it wrong, rhyming with Mike.
What do you mean by "could work"? As in, would people be able to pronounce it? I bet they could figure it out: they may have seen the word somewhere before. :)
It reminds of of some of the "English names" people have chosen when they move to North America from China. I've met a Whisky, a Dido, a Stone. My understanding is they just picked an English word that they liked the sound of, regardless of whether it already had a meaning or association.
ie, If you don't mind that everyone who meets your child would think of the running shoe brand name, then go for it. The kid might get tired of the comments though: "Nike, like the brand name?" could get old.

I just think of the brand.
I think most people would think you named your child after the sneakers. If you really like it, I would consider using it as a middle name.
There would be an automatic association with the shoe brand, so it would seem kind of strange.
Exactly what I was thinking...
Ditto.
