Hello there! Here's what I posted on the sign-up thread:1. Is popularity a big issue for you? - It's an issue, but not really a big issue. Trendy names turn me off, and unless I really love a name (e.g. William), I will probably shy away from something extremely popular (e.g. Sophia, which I would otherwise love). But I wouldn't be entirely opposed to it either.2. How would you describe your naming style? - Anything but modern. I usually go for traditional names but I also prefer them to be unique, as long as they're not ridiculously complex or difficult to pronounce. I would prefer names that work well in the English-speaking world since that's where I am. I like names with an old, historic, romantic sort of quality to them. And I have an inclination toward names that end in S or N, especially for boys.3. Is the meaning of a name important to you? - Not really.4. Please list 3 names of each gender that you love - Cecily, Mercedes, Glenice; William, Tristan, Julian.-------Here's a list of surnames I fancy, in approximate order of preference:Hanna
Gilchrist
Callahan
Cockrill
Shepard
Sauvage
Collumbell
Sutherland
Llewellyn
Kirchner
Christie
Eastgate
Teague
Drury
Collier
QuinlanAnd here's a longer list of first names I like, in order (roughly) of most preferred to least preferred:F:
Cecily
Mercedes
Glenice
Melaine (yes, Melaine, not Melanie) or Melaina
Moira
Lucia (preferably Lu-CHEE-a, the Italian pronunciation)

Hello!These are my answers on the sign up thread:1. Is popularity a big issue for you?
Not really. I'd use a very popular name if I liked it but I would avoid very popular / filler middle names.2. How would you describe your naming style?
I like classic and modern names from all/most languages. I dislike creative spellings and most made up names but there are exeptions.3. Is the meaning of a name important to you?
Yes, but it's not a deal-braker.4. Please list 3 names of each gender that you love.
Aurora, Phaedra, Helena & Henry, Alexander, Sebastian.
From your lists I like (* means I really like):* Eastgate
* Sauvage
Sutherland
Callahan
DruryCecily (but prefer Cecilia)
Melaina
Moira
Lucia
Catalina (but I prefer other forms of Catherine)
Wren
* Helena
* Magdalene (pr. MAG-də-lən but I don't mind other pronunciations)
Kerensa
* Anais
* Sophia
Nell (as a short form of Eleanor/Elanor)
Grace
Celeste* William
* Alan
* Jude
* Lucas
Quentin
Steffan (prefer Stephan)

Okay, let's see...From your lists I like:
Fay
Hollis
Catherine
Eleanor
Stella
AlexandraI especially like Fay and Hollis, now that I think about it. Hollis is on my PNL but I just tend to overlook it sometimes.Paul
Riordan (Funny, I just added this to my PNL last night!)
John
Alexander
Nathan / Nathaniel (I never can decide which one I prefer, but I'm leaning toward Nathaniel at the moment)
Henry
I think of the five, Callahan is my favorite surname, but I also like Sauvage a lot. How about Sauvage as a married name and Drury as a maiden name? Or Callahan as married and Sauvage as maiden? On the other hand, Eastgate might be a better fit since it seems like we have more Irish and English names on our lists and Sauvage sounds more French...then again, we also have Anais and Celeste.So for DH and DW names, do we select from our list or choose names that aren't on it? I tend to think of these all as baby names so I figure we'd go for something a little different for the parents, but I don't really have a preference. Well, here's a couple of ideas to start with:Nathaniel James Callahan / Sutherland
Ethan John Callahan / Sutherland
Ethan Xavier Callahan / Sutherland

Hmmm,I really like Joanna Grace Drury, I think it flows very well! We could change Joanna to Helena (He-LAY-na) so we can use a name from our lists.
I prefer the other 3 surnames over Callahan for DH. Maybe we could use Ethan John Sauvage, Ethan Jude Sutherland, Lucas Xavier Eastgate or something like that!

Helena Grace Drury would be perfect! Particularly since Joanna Drury is a little too hard on the J and Dr- sounds. As for DH, I love all those combos, but I think Ethan John Sauvage is my favorite. What do you think?

Helena Grace Drury & Ethan John Sauvage! Should we give them ages? Mid 20s would be nice...
vote up1
Sure! I'm thinking maybe 23 (Helena) and 25 (Ethan). How does that sound?Anything else we should work out before finishing up?

Ok, then!DH: (25) Ethan John Sauvage
DW: (23) Helena Grace DruryThese are the unused names from our lists:Cecily/Cecilia
Melaina
Moira
Lucia
Catherine
Wren
Magdalene
Kerensa
Anais
Sophia
Eleanor
Celeste
Fay
Hollis
Stella
AlexandraWilliam
Alan
Jude
Lucas
Stephan
Stellan
Ezra
Eamonn
Nicholas
Paul
Riordan
Alexander
Nathan / Nathaniel
Henry
Should we make a few combos? I'd like to use Magdalene or Nathaniel for their first child.

I always liked the sound of Magdalene Anais. Not sure how I feel about it with Sauvage, though, since it ends with S. But it's a possibility.Magdalene Anais Sauvage
Magdalene Wren Sauvage (I think this flows much better than Magdalene Anais)
Magdalene Eleanor Sauvage
Magdalene Kerensa Sauvage
Magdalene Stella SauvageNathaniel Riordan Sauvage
Nathaniel Ezra Sauvage
Nathaniel Eamonn Sauvage
I also tend toward William, Lucia or Melaina for their first child. Let's see...William Nathaniel Sauvage
William Stellan Sauvage
William Ezra Sauvage
William Lucas SauvageLucia Magdalene Sauvage
Lucia Celeste Sauvage
Lucia Kerensa SauvageMelaina Catherine Sauvage
Melaina Wren Sauvage
Melaina Fay SauvageBy the way, I'm using the Italian pronunciation for Lucia, Lu-CHEE-a. Is that what you use? I don't mind Lu-SEE-a, and LU-sha doesn't work with as many middle names, but LU-sha would be my second favorite pronunciation.

Magdalene Anais Sauvage is great! I don't mind the "s" part because in real life the middle name isn't used often and I don't think it ruins the flow. I also like Melaina Fay & Lucia Magdalene / Magdalen Lucia. I like all pronunciations for Lucia. Lu-CHEE-a is fine.
For a boy I like Nathaniel Riordan and Lucas William / William Lucas. What about Nathaniel Jude?
vote up1
Magdalene Anais it will be, then! You do have a point there. I usually reserve Jude for first names, that's why I didn't list it, but it does work well with Nathaniel.
vote up1
Maybe Jude Nathaniel? Well, we don't have to decide that now, we don't even know if they'll ever have a son :P
vote up1
I have to say, I like that better. But yes, we could have plenty of time to figure it out!

FINISHED!Ok, then! Finished!
