Queen Felipa's body wasn't even cold when Lord Dov of Uwit contacted King Estienne. It seems that he didn't approve of the war, and neither did a number of other Nobles. However, the headstrong young King was a very bloodthirsty young man who was hoping to increase the size of his Kingdom through whatever violent means were at his disposal. Lord Dov had a proposition for King Estienne. If King Estienne were to attack just before dawn in 3 days time, Lord Dov would make sure that the young King of Uwit and his supporters (who, he claimed, coincidently set up the sabotage with Queen Felipa's medicine) were in a particular field and vulnerable. Lord Dov would do all of this, but only if King Estienne would marry his oldest daughter.Royal Father Wulf didn't like the plan as "something didn't smell right". Ten, however, needed a chance at vengeance. He had his spies confirm as much of the plan ahead of time as he could. He also had preliminary forces watching the surrounding hills for signs of betrayal. However, nothing sufficient turned up... at least nothing sufficient to change Ten's mind. Three days time saw King Estienne and his troops surrounding the field.Just before they were to attack, Lord Dov rode hastily into their midst. He told King Estienne that they should call off the attack. It seems that he wasn't able to make this little group as vulnerable as he thought he would be. While King Estienne and his men outnumbered them 3 to 1, they had many weapons at their disposal. If the Legion of Elsey were to attack in typical fashion, they would most likely loose one-quarter of their men and injure another one-half.King Estienne paused for only a second before writing changes for the pages to run to the field commanders. Instead of ringing out the attack, and giving a chance for surrender, this was going to be a quick and bloody attack to take out any threats... the rest would be sorted out after the fact.An hour before dawn saw the Legion of Elsey quietly walking into the camp. And that's when the noise started. Not one of the nobles would surrender. Each and every one, plus all of their soldiers, fought as if it were their souls on the line. However, the Legion of Elsey had their King at their head and their Queen in their hearts. They weren't in any mood to give quarter, especially as no one seemed willing to take it. By high-noon, the camp was once again quiet. There were only 12 survivors, all simple cooks helpers or laundresses who hid. The rest were dead, some by the hands of the soldiers of Uwit.King Estienne was strangely quiet as he surveyed the ruins of the camp. "Now, this is done, and my heart is still broken" he muttered while watching his men dig holes to burn the dead and then cover the remains. Just then, Lord Dov rode up and saluted King Estienne. "In one moons time, I'll return" he stated, and then turned his horse around and rode off.Back in Elsey, the Royal Advisors were furious with Ten. How dare he make such an alliance without, at least, first giving them a chance to have their opinions heard. Ten just nodded his head wearily. "Done is done" he said in a quiet, worn voice. "By agreeing to this marriage, I am hoping to prevent any further entanglements with Uwit. They've long been know to be bloodthirsty, and I never want that turned towards Elsey again! There is a good chance that Lord Dov will be King Dov before he rides back here in a moon. This is a treaty would could never hope to normally get! Now I have just a few weeks to mourn my wife, and I am NOT going to do so arguing with you!" The Royal Advisors were a little shocked by the slightly feral look in the King's eyes, but had to agree that the reasoning was sound.~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * Dov stomped into Bea's apartment in the castle. "What's this I hear about you fussing over Luk?!" he bellows. Bea glanses in her dressing-room mirror, spying her father in the background, and calmly replies "I hardly think it fair that I should have to give him up father. He is, after all, my man-servant. Do you really intend to send me so far away without any of my servants?"."Hmmf, man servant indeed. Everybody knows what type of servicing he does. The witch has told me that you will bleed like a virgin on your wedding night, but that doesn't mean you can sleep with everything you can wrap your legs around. He's already been beheaded. But, I suppose if he means that much to you, I could preserve his head in some honey and send it to you as a wedding gift?" Dov paced back and forth in Bea's tiny apartment room."Really, father! You could have at least let me say good bye" Bea declares. Seeing no change in her father's expression, she turns around and stands up. Loosening the strap to her light-weight lounging skirt, she lets it slide to the floor. "I suppose that if I can't say good bye to Luk, at least I can say goodbye to my daddy... and now my King..." she purrs as she slinks towards Dov.Dov lets her slide right up to him. He slides his hands down her loose, light-weight lounging top, and then slides his left hand inside the top. Bea closes her eyes and purrs "Daddy" as Dov slowly starts to massage her breast. And then, without breaking his stride, he flings her so that her back is against the wall and his right hand is now gripping her throat. Squeezing hard with both hands, he leans in close to Bea's ear and whispers "All I need from you, is for you to be a good little wife to that Elsey fool. You will go to him and pretend that you know what faithful is. You will sire his children, and only his children, or else! And you will use every trick I taught you to please him and make him listen to you. Do You Under Stand Me?.With her eyes wide and close to losing consciousness, Bea nods yes. Dov loosens his grip on her throat, but still massages her breast with his other hand. "Now that's my good girl" he tells her, for all the world sounding like a father praising a 6 year-old. Bea almost laughs with joy.~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * King Estienne and Queen Bea were married just two months after Queen Pippa passed away. Basi, Pax, Dachy, and Dion were less then thrilled. Lia, Raf and Ru were unsure of what was happening, but were generally taking their cues from their older siblings. Wulf had set them down and talked to them about the importance of a King doing what was best for the whole of his Kingdom. They understood, but still did not like it.Basi had the hardest time, being only 4 years younger then the new Queen. It didn't help that Queen Bea lorded her title over them, insisting that everybody refer to her exclusively by that regardless of rank or intimacy. It also didn't help when Queen Bea tried to insist that Basi needed sent away to school. "He undermines my authority in this household" she complained to Estienne (she refused to call him Ten"). "Besides, he would do well in the Navy" she simpered as she snaked her way towards Estienne. "Basi will not be leaving. He's my son, and I need him here. He helps with multiple tasks on a daily basis." Ten told Queen Bea. Well, that wasn't the end of that argument, but nothing ever became of it either.Fourty-two weeks after the wedding, Queen Bea was delivering her first child. What she screamed while in labor can't be written here... but it curled many a servants hair as they went by. Also, one laundry servant had her arm broken while she was delivering towels to the Queen chambers. Queen Bea insists that it was an accident that she twisted her arm so hard, and that labor had her out of her mind with pain. The servant, however, asked to be sent to a cloister and was granted the request. After a quick 6 hour labor, a Princess was born. Queen Bea made sure to get Estienne to allow her to name her daughter in the Uwit fashion. The only thing Estienne insisted upon was that her FN be the more formal, and Elsian, name of Lucia, even if she was to be called Princess Lucy by family and Kingdom alike. Unlike Pippa, Queen Bea handing Lucy off to a wet-nurse before even holding her a first time.Ten truly doesn't like his Queen, and he certainly doesn't love her. However, Queen Bea has managed to ensnare him with her other "charms". She often gets her way, much to the disappointment of Wulf, Basi and the Royal Advisors. Wulf still doesn't trust King Dov, and that goes double to the daughter he left as his son's wife and the Queen of his country. He's quietly keeping an eye on things, but not rocking the boat without reason...
