Rules for the Deceased/Dowager King/Queen: Go back to the sign up page and chose names for both. One of the Royals must have at least 3 (or more) MNs, the other can have 2 (or more) MNs. Please list each of them as either "Deceased" or "Dowager". If they are a Dowager, please add their age. (note: The life of any Dowager King/Queen is up to you and will not be reflected in any writing prompts.)
General Rules: Please add 1 year to everybody's ages. Everybody has received a random, single child (do NOT change the age of the new child). Please use the namebank below to name this child. Every child must have at least 2 (or more) MNs. You may change the spelling of the names in the namebanks or using a different ethnicity of the same name (ex. Writing Prompt: The Kingdom is thrilled with the arrival of a Prince/ss a short 11 months after the wedding (but long enough for everybody to be sure that the child was conceived after the wedding!). The Queen had an easy pregnancy and delivery, and both mother and child are doing well. However, the Queen would now like a chance to get her feet under her and have time to adjust to her two new roles of mother and Queen (more so if she is an especially young Queen). How does the King feel about this? What do the Royal Advisors think of this?

Queen Elinor did not want her mother to return to their island home after her wedding to the King Adrian, but she knew that she had to. Her mother was the Lady of Flowers, and her people looked to her to leadership, and they would have done the same someday for her had King Adrian not asked for her hand in marriage. Instead, she became queen, and his mother the Queen Dowager Matilda had no love for her daughter by marriage.
"Your worth is only as far as you provide heirs to the throne." The queen told her disparagingly. Elinor wanted to feel sympathy for her, for she suffered miscarriage after miscarriage and the pressure on her to produce and heir had clearly embittered her. At the age of 40 when she finally did, the whole kingdom had rejoiced, but those council members who had whispers about King Balthazar setting aside his wife for a younger woman, had to flee for their lives when Queen Matilda decided to enact some vengeance on them.
A stern imposing woman, she did not approve of her son's hasty and not politically sound marriage. She especially didn't approve of her good daughter's brown skin and exotically red colored hair and green eyes. "I hope the children you give us won't take after your side of the family," she sneered. The ease in which Elinor got pregnant with her first child enraged her, so much so that King Adrian sent his mother away to stay with relatives for fear that she would upset his young wife so terribly, that she might have a miscarriage or worse.
"I'm sorry, my love, I won't be able to keep her away permanently. It's longstanding tradition for the Dowager Queen to live out the remainder of her life in the castle."
"But you're the King." Elinor pleaded with him. "Surely you could buck tradition if you wanted to."

Queen Adelais and King Leopold were definitely adjusting well to their new roles as rulers of Caranenth, when they received some pleasant news a few months after their wedding. The news was that they would become parents barely a year after taking charge of the Kingdom. The young couple and their families were incredibly excited for the new arrival to come. Adelais kept working at her queenly duties until later in her pregnancy, at the behest of the royal doctor. She was advised to keep a close eye on how she was feeling, to eat healthy, and to rest in the last few months as much as possible.
Over the pregnancy, Adelais barely had any sickness and kept following the advice of the doctor. Leopold made sure to keep the kitchen staff on call should his love desire any special foods. He also made sure that the farmers near Whitelake Castle were well compensated to provide a stock of fresh fruits and vegetables for healthful meals. This gave the farmers a chance to see that though they were not of noble class, they were still treated just as well as any other citizen of Caranenth. They helped spread the word that Queen Adelais and King Leopold were fair and gracious rulers.
Eleven months after the wedding, Adelais went into labor. About 10 hours later, Caranenth had a healthy new little princess. The baby was named Theresia Jutte Cornelia Mathilde. Theresia and Jutte honored Adelais and Leopold's paternal grandmothers, while Cornelia was from Adelais's father and Mathilde from her mother. The newborn princess, to be called Thera in familiar settings, was born with a light blond-brown mix of hair that combined her parent's colorings. It is unknown whether her eyes will remain the typical blue of newborns or grow darker and brown like her father's.

But he doesn't want to forsake his child's mother without giving her a chance to rectify the situation. Time will tell.

Up until this point, he had spent but four nights with his new bride, and his royal advisors were quick to remind him that the kingdom needed an heir to the throne. Joseph Wilhelm brushed them aside, declaring that once the Solandrans were taken care of, there would be time enough to think of children.
The Solandran army proved to be no match for their opponents, and their strongholds fell easily. As king, Joseph Wilhelm was rarely at the battlefront, so while his troops claimed victory after victory abroad, he celebrated each triumph with extravagant parties in the palace. He was, after all, still a 17-year-old young man -- and as such, he demanded the best that his position could offer: women, drink, and other such diversions.
But despite his wild side, Joseph Wilhelm was not a fool -- he was well aware that the war with Solandra would end soon in victory, and it was his duty to father a legitimate child who might one day rule the kingdom of Kyrn. Besides, he had grown quite fond of Cecilia, who showed an aptitude for politics and the subtleties of court that the young king appreciated. And -- not that he would've admitted it to anyone -- she was one of the prettiest girls he had ever seen.
Three months after the wedding, Cecilia came to her husband and told him that she was with child. The king was ecstatic and ordered a celebration to be thrown in honor of his future son or daughter. Cecilia, however, was somewhat less excited about having a child. Still only 16 years old, she felt that she had never been given the chance to experience life. Plus, she could not help but wish that the father of her child was Breccan Pike, her fiancé from whom she had been separated when she was given in marriage to Joseph Wilhelm. Still, she did what was expected of her and played the part of dutiful queen and wife.

However, no one was more excited to welcome a child into the Royal family then Ten and Pippa. The pregnancy, while not expected to happen quite so soon, was a breeze for Pippa and both child and mother recovered from the birth rapidly. It was after the recovery that Pippa started to have trouble. She was determined to be a part of Basi's life and refused to let the wet-nurse even nurse him once. At first, this was quite a scandal... not just a Royal, but the Queen! And nursing her child herself!
In the end, Pippa's sparkling personality and devotion to both Basi and Ten overrode most people's initial shock and upset. Most found themselves supporting her right to be a mother to her children, and thinking about how well it will do the children in the long run. Many even found themselves imitating her.
As little Basi neared his 6th moon-day, Pippa found that she was still adjusting to life as a new Queen, a wife, and a mother. The Royal Advisors were pressuring Ten to produce another heir. They kept reminding both Ten and Pippa that Elsey relied on many heirs, and that a lack of heirs was considered bad luck for the WHOLE KINGDOM. As little Basi neared his 1 year birthday the Royal Advisors tried telling Ten and Pippa outright that it was time for Pippa to stop nursing and start trying for another child.

Everyone was happy that a new Prince was born and was quite healthy. Everyone in Gentan rejoiced with Prince Caspar was born, less than a year after the wedding of Sola and Leor. Even though there was a bit of suspicion, most Gentians are just glad that there is an heir.
Queen Sola is feeling a bit overwhelmed, however. Her father has died less than a year ago, and now she is a queen and a mother at 18. She still has to care for her mother, the now Dowager Queen, who is deep in grief, and now she has a son. She wishes she has more time to adjust to all of this. Leor is supportive of his wife and has made sure that there are plenty of people around to support her as well. He tries to keep her away from the gossiping court, and helps her focus on ruling. Leor, though he would never have ruled in his own home, had training that he uses, along with Sola's advisers, that advise her.

The court was, however, quiet as it became apparent that Octavia was pregnant. She gave birth to a raven haired, amber-eyed beauty who was her mother's spitting image. They chose her names with care. Octavia wanted something unduly exotic, so they chose Genoveva as her first name. Princess Genoveva of Nighlin? Wasn't it perfect? The Dowager Theodosia even rummaged in the family history and found a barbarian queen of ancient Nighlin named Genoveva, and it all seemed to fit. The middle name Therasia fitted the same pattern of names Vincent had inherited from his mother - the Dowager was Theodosia, his middle name was Theodore and they decided for the related name of Therasia to continue the pattern. Her other name of Cornelia was a mere split decision and Agata was for her mother's, Octavia's, grandmother. While her grandmother had been Agafya Zrkic, the variant Agata seemed more elegant.
Princess Genoveva's birth is duly welcomed in the Kingdom, and there are much celebrations. Although it is unlikely that Genoveva will ever inherit the throne, the public are delighted at the birth of a daughter to a royal father and peasant mother. Banners welcome her birth in the street. The King and Queen are more quietly pleased. Genoveva was not planned,and they suddenly have to balance their lives and their child's life in sudden synchronicity.

The first year of marriage has passed, and with it have come many obstacles to overcome. Jacques-Léon and Emeline soon found that they were in fact quite a compatible match, once Emeline realised that they anger she was directing at Jacques-Léon was misplaced. She has requested that if he wishes to play and equal role in the governing of Rossinest that he renounce ties with his family, and, knowing what his father did to his wife's family he agreed. King Francois was livid when Jacques-Léon announced that he was renouncing his title in Delacroix as it meant that he would not be able to influence his son into making choices for Rossinest that would benefit his own kingdom as he had envisioned.
King Francois in a desperate bid to change Jacques-Léon's mind refused to allow him to renounce his title so technically Jacques-Léon is still a Prince of Delacroix, but as per the Verbena family's wishes he does not acknowledge it. Rather, he has embraced being a son of Rossinest whole-heartedly and he and his Queen are now very deeply in love. Jacques-Léon has earnt the respect of all of Emeline's brothers and they trust his judgement, though they still defer to Emeline for all decisions in the first instance.
A few months after her wedding, Emeline came down with a horrible stomach flu, but when it didn't pass after a few days the royal physicians were summoned.
