Help[Opinions] Georgiana and Christiana
Which name do you prefer Georgiana or Christiana? Both have been on my mind recently, especially in the middle name spot, what do you think?

I greatly prefer Georgina to Georgiana, but I like Christiana a lot and might well have considered it as a mn - I've got two great-grandmothers with the name - if I'd had enough daughters for all the good names out there.
Anne Georgina, Clare Georgina or Ruth Georgina would please me. One GGM had just the one name, and the other was Christiana Margaret, which doesn't help much. And both of them were known as Chrissie!
Mabel Christiana could work; so could Jean Christiana or Lucy Christiana.

It has such a lush sound, and for some reason I never considered it to be a "frilly name". I guess in my mind it's lushness absolves it from being frilly. ;)
I like Georgia, but Georgiana had always sounded like a snooty name to me. I think it was the name of one of a nasty character in a teen movie - Mean Girls? That's probably where the association comes from.

I adore Georgiana. It's been my top girl name for years, so I definitely prefer it to Christiana. And I pronounce it jor-jee-ah-nuh, which I prefer as well. The jor-jane-uh pronunciation never even occurred to me!

I would have to say I love both equally. Both have such allure for me, however, Christiana is more Baroque Period and Georgiana is more Classical Period.

I definitely prefer Georgiana to Christiana -- I'm not particularly fond of names derived from the word Christian.

Georgiana without a doubt. I prefer it pronounced jor-JEE-ana though.

I love both! I have to say I prefer Christiana. I do like Georgiana with the pronunciation jor-JANE-a, but I've sonly seen it pronounced jorj-ee-AH-na.

I don't know, I like them both about the same. I like the nickname Georgie, and George-names aren't as common as Chris-names, so probably Georgiana. Christiana is uncommon (only met two, one had Marie as her middle name), but Christina, Kristina, Krystal, Crystal, Krista, Kristen, Kristin, Christopher and Christian were all in the top 100 in the 80s and some of them still are. All similar names seem overused even when they aren't and maybe even a bit dated.

Georgiana under all circumstances, but I only really like it if it's pronounced jor-JANE-a. I'm really not big on Chris-anything, though I do know a wonderful Christianne.

I pronounce it jor-JAY-na. I really like it that way. It's very stately without being overly frilly. Christiana, on the other hand, is like pure frill and I'm not so into that.
I think Georgiana has a lot more color and depth going on and would make a great mn too!
