And yet more DRAMA for the Chevalier family. Rand got sick of Andrea treating him as live-in help, and decided to go out on his own. This upset Ruby greatly, who didn't want her 17 year-old son living who knows where. She offered to come up and bring him back home, but he refused saying that he liked living in Eugene, Oregon. It turns out that what he liked best was his girlfriend. She's 23 and has an apartment of her own. Rand had moved in with her. When Ruby found out, she threatened to call the police. Rand begged her to come and visit before she did anything... finally threatening to never talk to her again if she didn't.

Ruby came and met Rand's GF. It turns out that she had a rough start... being abused as a child and then getting into drugs and alcohol. She went into rehab at 15 and spent the next 2 years just trying to figure out how to get her life on track. There is absolutely no drugs or alcohol allowed in the house, and she refuses to have anything to do with anybody who does drugs... period! Ruby found out that she did like, and even respect, Rand's GF. Because the GF's childhood had been so rough and practically non-existent, she was a strange/sweet mixture of young-girl and responsible adult. She loved just hanging with Rand and doing all of the things she never had a chance to do when she was young. She also pulls Rand up and expects him to be responsible, go to school on time and daily, complete all work, etc. In the end, Ruby felt that she was as good for Rand as he was for her, and was happy with the match. She left, promising to send tickets for them to come visit over the holidays.

Butler and Chelsea are still unmarried, and now having a daughter. They still don't feel ready to get married, but still do plan on staying together. Tony just found out that he is a father. It turns out that a date he had almost a year ago (that went just a tad further then either party expected with the help of some alcohol) ended up pregnant. She knew he was the father, because she had not been intimate with anybody else for 6 months prior or anytime after she became pregnant. Knowing that it was all just a series of accidents that lead to the pregnancy, she was determined not to burden Tony with the child... she could raise the baby on her own. Well, after a long pregnancy, and some post-postpartum depression, she felt that she wasn't ready to be a parent. She found Tony and told him that he could either sign away his rights so the little baby could be adopted out or become a full-time parent.

Tony ended up becoming a full-time parent and she signed away all rights to her daughter. This presented a little bit of trouble, after the maternal grandparents found out. In the end, Tony and the grandparents were able to work out a system where they would keep in contact and the little girl would know her maternal family. While kind of awkward at first, it ended up being the best decision for all involved.

Lark is out of high school and working her way through college. It helps that little Basil is now in preschool. Inigo and Maribel have been impressed with how dedicated Lark is as a mother and a student.

Ina is also out of high school, barely. She graduated last spring, and in the autumn she married Isaiah. They are now having a daughter together. Isaiah and Ina would like their DD's FN to start with "I" and Ina would like it to be an uncommon name in the same theme as her families. For a MN they would like a biblical name that was once popular, but is now seen as dated.

Oakley's pregnant, with twins! Hayrold is the father, and they both think that they can handle things. However, they did nothing but fight during the pregnancy. Before the little girls were two months old, Hayrold had run off. Oakley decided that she couldn't be a parent. She was going to adopt the girls out, but Marley and her parent's wouldn't let her. Marley insisted that she allow her to adopt and raise her nieces. Haryold was tracked down, and only agreed to sign away his rights after he found out that his wages and disability checks would be garnished if he didn't. Oakley is once again on the prowl for a new BF.

Oakley did NOT enjoy the rhyming/matchy names that she shares with her siblings, and made sure that each girl had a name that was unique to them and NOT matchy or themed in any way. DD#1's FN is a feminine variation of "James", in honor of her father, and her MN is up to you. DD#2's FN is feminine variation of "Isabella" (BUT NOT ISABELLA), in honor of her aunt and her mom's twin, and her MN is up to you.
