[Opinions] Sunniva and Shirin
both have really been growing on me lately. Not only do I love the meaning of Sunniva, but also the possible nns of Sunny, Eve, or Eva. Shirin has a great meaning too and I consider it sort of a smoosh between my and my bf's mothers' names - Shirley and Robyn.I've been toying with the idea of Gwen Sunniva as a combo but could use some help. So first, what are your opinions of each name and secondly, help me with combos for them? I'm bored with all my favorites so plug these into either spot! TIA

They are both lovely names and using them in the middle gives you more flexibility with first names and creating a balanced sib set.

Shirin is one of my favorite names. I know some American aid workers in Afghanistan who gave that name to their daughter. It's so sweet. I also watched a movie called Shirin by Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami, about a group of Iranian women watching a film based on the legend of Shirin and her lover Khosrow-- very fascinating.

Sunniva is pretty, too. Gwen Sunniva sounds great. I like the idea of using slightly unusual (maybe hard to pronounce) names as middle names, just to save the child from headaches and questions, but also give them something special and unique. From your name list I like:Adela Shirin
Athena Shirin
Celia Shirin
Fiona Shirin
Gemma Shirin
Harriet Shirin
Isla Shirin
Lydia ShirinYou have a lot of great names on your list, btw! :)
