I like it but I think it is way too weird to use as a real name. It's a GP for me. I could see it as a character or in the middle name spot.

I don't mind it, but I do find it a little bit too puritan. My uncle's sister is called Charity and she goes by the nickname Chat, which is quite cute. My uncle is Christian - I think Christian and Charity as a sibset is just too much! From your list, I particularly like Charity Augusta, Charity Jemima, Charity Susanna

hmm..to be honest, it's not my favorite virtue name. i think it sounds a little too goody-two-shoes and a bit frilly. but i completely agree that it's better than a lot of others like Chastity! i prefer ones like Justice/Justus (albeit for a boy - just as an example) Merritt, and Grace and Honor. If i were going to pick a similar name, I'd go for Clarity. Same sound, but you can get Clare/Clara out of it, and i love the sense of "truth" and "eagle-eyedness" about it, if that makes any sense at all! hahai like these combos best:Charity Adele
Charity Amabel
Charity Anne
Charity Antonia
Charity Augusta
Charity Eliza
Charity Emeline
Charity Evelyn
Charity Helene
Charity Isabel
Charity Johanna
Charity Laetitia (I like Charity Laeticia)
Charity Louisa (I prefer Charity Louise)
Charity Magnolia
Charity Marguerite
Charity Mathilda
Charity Pearl
Charity Susanna (I prefer Charity Susanne - i sense a pattern in our preferences :))
Charity Violet

I was just thinking about Charity! The other day I made a little list of Ch- names that I enjoyed and Charity has always been one of them. I don't think it's hokey or trite. As far as virtue names go, Charity is one of the friendlier ones. It's not making any statements about sex or shame. I wouldn't hesitate to use it and I'm not Christian. It's a virtue that everyone can keep in mind.I quite enjoy these:
Charity Alice - such a pretty palette of blue and white! Like a Wedgewood cup and saucer
Charity Amabel - a natural pairing! A name overflowing with love and kindness.
Charity Anne - oh lovely. So simple and pure and just a touch somber
Charity Diana - Diana will always be a "kind" name for me, and it sits next to Charity so prettily; it has a lovely pale silvery-blue shine to it
Charity Eliza - Eliza livens up Charity's soft, docile nature. A welcome jolt!
Charity Frances - dark-and-light, it's like a sumptuous Joshua Reynolds work. Stiff and glossy and proper
Charity Iris - Iris helps modernize the name and lends it a pretty lavender tone
Charity Juliet - another darling purplish combo
Charity Louisa - I picture a pale pink gingham frock, and a wicker basket
Charity Martha - so sweet and domestic, a lovely calm golden brown
Charity Wilhelmina - I do enjoy this, and I wonder how you'd feel about Charity Willa?
Charity Winifred - oh I enjoy the starchy whiteness of this, like stiff peaks of meringue.
