Help[Opinions] Nicknames for Adelaide
The main character for a story I am writing is named Adelaide and while I love this name, I want to give her a nickname for simplicity. I've been calling her Addie, and while that matches her personality in many ways, her brother's name is Gregory nn Rory. I don't like that they have similar ending nicknames and I love the name Rory too much to change his.
So what's a good nickname for Adelaide?
Their last name is Harlow, btw.
(also what do you think of the sibset Adelaide and Gregory?)

What about Alice?
It's technically a short form of a short form for the original Germanic name that Adelaide is from, Adalheidis. Alice and Rory go very well together in my opinion.

Quite a few nicknames end in either -y or -ie, so I don't think it's a big deal that Adelaide and Gregory have similar ending nicknames. Their first names end differently, so I think you're fine. Also, Addie and Rory don't sound overly similar at all, but if you'd much rather use a nickname with a different ending, there's Ada instead of Addie. I think it's adorable.

Adelaide and Gregory make a good enough sibset, but Adelaide is too Victorian and regal for simple, modern Gregory. It's even worse if Gregory is called Greg, though Addie and Greg are a lot more similar.

I'll try Del... I've kind of moved away from Ada because it seems a bit too feminine for the character. (She's girly but not sweet feminine girly, more of an oddball girly)

Lady is actually what her dad calls her.
Which is probably the biggest reasons why I cannot use it, unfortunately... Deeds could be interesting, but I'm not sure how it fits her... same with Lai...
