My great grandmother was named Izora and it was also my mother's middle name, after her grandmother. Her heritage is from Ireland. I have always understood the name Izora to be of Greek origin, after the Greek goddess, Isis. My great grandfather called her "Zoe" and many times "Zoie". It is a beautiful name and not often heard any more.
