It's usable to me. I've always been drawn to it's exotic air. The only down side that I see is the pronunciation.
My ears prefer, "SAL-uh-may," but I've come to the conclusion that "sah-LO-may" is closer to the original
Shalom. So I've settled on the latter. But it could be an issue for others.
