[Facts] Meaning/history of Vasilia? (f)
Does anyone know what Vasilia means or how it may be pronounced? I know a woman in her 60s who has said that she was Greek. She goes by the short for Lia (Lee-ah) so I haven't heard the full form (I didn't want to ask her), though I saw her full name written today. Are there any other short forms?
I would really love to have information on this. Thank you in advance :)
I love the mountains, I love the clear blue sky.

That's my name!
It's Vasilia (pronounced with a stress on the penultimate syllable as in Va-si-Lee-a).
It means the reign of a king. It also has a religious connotation, as in the kingdom of heaven.
In greek it's spelled like this: Βασιλεία
A variation of it is Va-See-li-a (stressed on the second syllable) which means 'queen' in classical greek.
Greek: Βασίλια (the spelling is different to the first one)
