Artie and Tia are a couple that you might say have "hippie" tendencies. Artie is a college professor of Philosiphy and Tia is a florist. They met when Artie came into the shop Tia was working at to buy his mother some flowers, they have been inseperable ever since.

The Nichols moved over from England just over two years ago. Their children Ben and Gia have adapted very well to the move. The children are often seen in the back yard playing cricket with their friends they have taught. Patrick and Addy are both in the professors at the college. They both teach journalism and communication classes. They met while they were both interning at a newspaper their Sophomore year of college.

Derek is an accountant while Emily is a producer at a local TV station. You often hear about the "Fitzpatrick boys" and not so often the "Fitspatrick's daughter". The boys can be a bit of a rambunctious group but are known as good boys, while Stella has grown up a bit of a princess. The family is very athletic and the boys play hockey while Stella and Marcus ice skate.

They decided to give their children both of their lastnames so that in the event that more than one ends up in the same profession they will be able to use different surnames. Their children are all very social.

Paul Truscott is a writer and Annie works as an Elementary school teacher. The children are all involved in community activities, programs, and overall helping the community. As a stay at home dad Paul has the children doing things such as going to the nursing home and reading to the folks there, walking the neighbors dogs, and even picking up sticks at the church. Paul coaches the teeball team and keeps the household going.

The Hawthorne's exemplify the notion that "opposites attract". They met through friends after college. Kevin makes a living running a bar while Tonya is a nurse. Kevin is a bit of a mess while Tonya keeps things in order. They made the decision that when they have kids they will keep having kids until they have at least one of each gender. They also agreed that each would name the kids of the same gender. So after Tonya gave all the girls her initials Kevin decided to do the same with the boys.

The Jeremy grew up as the child of a Marine, he decided that his family would have the luxury of growing up in the same town they were born in. He met Sadie in college. She helped loosen him up. They were best friends for nine years and then Jeremy finally asked her on a date. Jeremy hated moving as a kid but loved seeing new places. Every summer the family goes on a month long trip to a new place where they live and learn. Jeremy started his own car shop which eventually turned into a dealership. Sadie now works as a child care provider from their home.
