[Facts] Ancestry
I'm trying to find the city or town in Sweden where a great-grandmother was born. Her name, as far as I can tell, was Anna Sjesdt(1857 - 1925). She was born in Sweden near "Ghutenburg" (possibly Gothenburg or Goteborg?). Upon arriving in the New Bedford area of the United States, the Sjesdt name was changed to "Chester" to make it easier for English-speaking Americans to pronounce. Problem is, "Sjesdt" does not appear to be a Swedish surname -- at least, not a common one. If this is not the correct spelling of my great-grandmother's name, then what would be the closest match?

Sjöstedt is the closest match I can find to the name, and I'd say Göteborg was the most likely place.
