[Opinions] Adelaide
Wdyt? I like it is Feminine but not to frilly and I think its classic and beautiful. I used to hate it but now Ive grown fond of it, If I used it the Nickname would be Addy/Addie ( How ever you spell it) anyway I'd love to know What do you think?
I am also eatable..but that is called canabalism my dear children, and is frowned upon in good society

Adelaide is so pretty and so feminine! And I love the nn Addie/ Addy or Ada.

I love Adelaide! I'm quite fond of it myself. I like the nickname Addy as well as Adele.

I like the full name Adelaide. Somehow it has both oldfashioned femme flourish and practical, immediate tidiness. Ditto Array on the nickname Addie, though - that really is unappealing to me. I might not use a nick at all.
The association I have with the Australian city is pretty strong, but I know nothing about the city itself and I suspect that meeting an Adelaide would lessen that association a lot.

I think it very pretty, not too frilly but not too bold like most German names (Brunhilda, Hildegarde, ect.). I like the nickname Addy somewhat but Della would also be nice.
I also like Adelle, Adeline, and Adelheid with the nickname Heidi. :)
I knew a little blound girl named Adelaide but I can't remember what her middle name was. Her family was German so her brothers were Deirich and Stockton, her parents were Kurt and Suzanne. :)

I absolutely love Adelaide. It has the most beautiful look in the world, and it sounds lovely. I'd never call her Addie/Addy, though--I hate the nickname Addy! My Adelaide would be a Della, or a Ladle, perhaps. ;)
I always liked Adelaide Brett; to me, it's a nice balance between the old-fashioned and the semi-modern. (Brett for a girl doesn't feel at all modern to me, though, because I picture Brett Summers. Because I think she was amazing, though, I'd use it.) I like Adelaide with shorter names, like June, Mae, Laure, etc.

"Yeah. It's Latin for 'kick me'."

It fits the feel of names I like! I quite like it, actually. I don't know that I'd use Addy/Addie, as it is getting popular with the Addison crowd, but it would definitely fit. I agree about overly frilly, too. I think that hard Ad- sound works nicely with the softer L in the middle. You could even use Adele as a nn if you wanted, but I'm biased. :) What mn's were you thinking?

I just like to come up with combos. I know you're not (at least I think you would mention it :0P )
I agree. I love both names, but it is very loooong to write, but it does roll off the tongue nicely. :)
