[Opinions] Garnet
This name just popped into my head, probably after seeing the "Gem ocmbos" post. It sounds interesting, especially when given in reference to the gemstone. What do you think of Garnet for a girl?

This might interest you (a thread a few months old which mentioned Garnet):

It also has my opinion in it, which is positive overall even though I don't really go for the sound.

Thanks!
I like it, but only for a boy, it's all boy to me.
Mixed emotions! I tend to avoid gemstone names as lacking in distinction, but I was at school with a wonderful girl whose surname was Garnett, so I can readily respond positively to it as a family-related mn.
I'm not so fond of gem names, but if I had to use Garnet I'd use it for a boy. Not because I think it sounds too harsh for a girl, but the stone itself seems masculine to me (that sounds strange, I know).
I don't want a gemstone to be used as a name, it's a bit irritating to our resident gem collector. That being myself.

I personally think it's beautiful. Garnet's one of the few female names that has a perfect balance of strength and elegance. :)
