A friend of mine has Lithuanian heritage (via her great-grandparents, who immigrated to the USA), and after doing some genealogical research, she came across the feminine names Amilika and Jagona. She has no idea what kind of names these are, or what they mean. Knowing that I am a "name nerd", she asked me whether I knew anything about those names, but I unfortunately have no clue either. I can only make guesses, such as that perhaps Amilika is a diminutive form of Amilija (which in turn is a variant form of Amalija and/or Emilija).

I googled the names, but hardly anything turned up. I suspect that these names were either very rare, or misspellings of existing names.

Both my friend and I would appreciate it if someone knowledgeable about Lithuanian names could shed some more light on these names. Thank you in advance. :)
