Variant of Boyd, perhaps?

Coco Chanel's true love was an Englishman (I think) named Boy Capel. Nancy Mitford named a character Boy Dougdale in "Love in a Cold Climate."

I always thought it was strange too. Imagine if a man named Guy named his son Boy and his daughter Missy.
