[Opinions] Royal Danish twins born this morning
Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary welcomed a baby prince and a baby princess this morning. They are the younger siblings of prince Christian Valdemar Henri John and princess Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe. Their names won't be announced until their christening, but what would you name them, or think the crown prince couple will name them?
My guess is Mathilde & André, but I have to think more about middle names. Maybe Mary and Frederik? :)
(Funny that there's a "If you had twins today" thread just below this)

My guess for first name for the little boy would be Alexander and can imagine there being an André, Michael or Georg in the combo somewhere.
For the little girl's first name, my guess is Victoria with perhaps Alexandrine, Elisabeth and Louise making an appearance.
I'm also hazarding a guess that Mary and Frederik will no doubt be apart of each name.

I'd love to see them use old Danish names like Dagmar, Thyra, Ingeborg, Axel, Christoffer, or Magnus - but having an Australian Mum I think they'll stick with something more contemporary and that works best in English. My guesses are Sofie, Charlotte, Emma, William, Oliver, or Mathias (all popular in Denmark atm).
I hope they don't pick something trendy and completely non Danish and non Royal - even the Queen's other grand kids, Isabella, Nikolai and Felix are new in the Danish royal family but are still classic and very common names for royals.

Cool! I don't recall hearing of too many pairs of royal twins. Re: the names, since I don't know much of the family's history, I can't even venture a guess as to what they'll be, however, based on the older sibs' names, I'd say the fns would be classic yet mainstream.
I adore Christian. Isabella was a huge disappointment - I was hoping Ingrid would be the fn. Isabella's so popular and common these days. I believe that the twins will have similar names to Isabella. Something handsome / pretty, yet common, nothing that says 'wow' and not traditionally Danish.
The following names are quite popular in Australia, I think they are potential candidates:
Lucinda, Olivia, Sophia, Amelia, Matilda (I could really see Matilda or even Mathilde being used) /// Sebastian, Oscar, Benjamin, William
Hopefully I'm wrong, I would love to see some gorgeous Danish names used, but then again they would be out of place with Isabella, even Christian perhaps, as it's quite a universal name. As for mn's, I see most are honouring, so Joachim, Henrik, Frederik, Jane, Anne, Patricia etc. Mary and Frederik as mn's would be sweet :)

Hm... I think they'll go with something that works in both Danish and English (based on their older daughter's name). Maybe Charlotte, Olivia, Stella, Sophia.
For a boy: Samuel, Benjamin, Alexander (or maybe not because of Willem-Alexander?), Jacob or Sebastian.
Middle names: Astrid, Benedikte, Ingrid, Anne-Marie, Alexandrine, Elizabeth (Mary's middle name), Jane (Mary's sister).
Boy names are harder. Maybe Frederik, André or Stuart (Mary's brother).
