[Opinions] middle names and nicknames
its pretty much between Leopold and Amadeus now
i thought maybe the best way to choose between them was to see which could have the best nicknames and which first and middle name combo sounded best.
i did a name generator thing to see which names are supposed to work with the babys last name. of course, i dont think it really works but here's some of the names it came up with:
· Cesar
· Xander
· August
· Wulf
· Nero
· Falco
· Nicola
· Karsten
· Friedrich
my sister might be giving birth around New Years, so she said if she did she would use Silvester as the middle name, or a second middle name because she heard it meant New Years? or something like that
so yea, keep that in mind =]
for nicknames i found:
Amadeus - Ama, Ami, Amade, Madeo**, Deus*
Leopold - Leo**, Leon*, Poldi*, Poidl
honestly, i liked the nicknames for Silvester the best, but my sister said no Silvester =[
can you think of anymore? better ones!?
what name combo(s) and nicknames would you pick?

ive actually been secretly loving Falco Amadeus but that might be too 'Rock Me Amadeus"-y which i personally dont think hurts it heehee =]]
i still love it!!
i still love it!!
There's a St Sylvester who died on 31 December, and in German-speaking countries they call the 31st Silvesterabend (= Silvester's Eve, just as Christmas Eve is the day before Xmas) so it's a bit tenuous unless you speak German.
Out of your name generator list, I'd prefer Nicholas (but not Nicola) or Friedrich or Karsten to either Leopold or Amadeus, especially as the only nn I like is Leo and it's getting pretty popular as a name on its own. Wulf seems a bit fluffy, but maybe Wolfgang might work, as a link to the Mozart family.
I think if you used Silvester as a fn and your sister used it as a mn and didn't call her child by it, there wouldn't be a problem and the cousins would have a nice link.
Actually, I've just noticed that if you spell Leon backwards you get Noel! A possibility?
