Darryl's longtime friend and his wife are both dead. One killed in a plane crash; the other accidentally killed while trying to keep a fight from breaking out. Darryl's friend left to Darryl and Peace his four children. His eldest is a girl with shimmering honey curls and eyes to match; her name is Georgia Michelle, and she is three years old and called Gigi. His other children are triplet boys, Robert Joel, Brandon Josiah, and Logan Caleb; they are identical, with lovely, extremely light blonde hair which curls around their darling little heads and big blue eyes, and are age one. Peace couldn't be happier to take on a bunch of children, especially since they were the kids of good friends.

In school Gigi has been corresponding with a ten-year-old, homeless African girl by the name of Babirye Chinasa. Gigi was told by Babirye that her correspondent once had a twin, but that twin died shortly after birth. Babirye also told Gigi that she was desperate for a good home. Gigi told her adoptive parents and Peace and Darryl immediately set out to bring Babirye home.

Babs met a young, two-year-old Italian boy and his twin through a correspondence with their older sister, who was eleven and living with a family. The twins weren't wanted anywhere, for both had medical problems. Both couldn't walk. One was blind. The other was mentally frail. Neither was in the best health at the time. Babs came home crying one day after reading this girl's letter. "Mama Peace, Mama Peace!" she cried, "We've gotta bring these little boys home. We can't just let them be family-less their whole lives. They've got a sister, but she can't take care of them, because her adoptive family won't take her brothers in. Please can we adopt them, Mama Peace? Please?" Peace knew right then that they'd have two new additions to their family soon. She was right. Loreto Vittorio and Rosario Umberto were soon a big part of the Elegoe family.

Aurelius Leopold has curly brown hair and amber eyes. Jason Valentino has wavy brown hair and green eyes. Chloe Leonarda has curly brown hair and green eyes.

Poor Loreto has been diagnosed with coronary heart disease. Laurie, the mentally frail twin, has had to be taken out of school, at least for a short while. Ro is worried, and so is their sister in Italy.

Peace was on her way home from a check-up with Laurie and Ro in the backseat when a car came on too fast and slammed right into their car, hitting the driver's side. Poor Laurie was on the driver's side and was injured rather badly. Ro was almost unharmed.
