Damion and Madeleine inherited a piece of land on which they built a new and much bigger home. They were living in an apartment before. Madeleine, who'd been raised on a farm, was glad to be back in the open. She didn't like being cooped up in a tiny apartment. Damion and Madeleine found a stray dog on one of their weekend walks. They took him home, got him checked, had all the procedures gone through, and he became theirs. Damion and Madeleine named him JoJo.

Madeleine gave birth to a beautiful son. Fortitude Damion D'Ampelio has slightly wavy black hair like his father and blue eyes. Fort, as they call Fortitude, had to be induced. Madeleine is glad to be the mother of a gorgeous son.

Damion decided he wanted to adopt a little boy from Greece. Instead of one... Damion got two! And he got newborn boys. Elias and Matthias were immediately accepted by the whole D'Ampelio family... and also by Madeleine's family. Damion and Madeleine gave their new adopted sons middle names since they didn't have one before. Elias is now Elias Michael and Matthias Joseph. The twins are fraternal, and, even though they are both blonde-ish brown with brown eyes, you can certainly tell them apart.

Madeleine had a friend who lived in Hawaii. This friend was a twelve-year-old boy who had no parents or home. After corresponding with him for almost two years, Madeleine decided to adopt him. She and Damion went through the adoption process and finally brought Kaimana Ikaika home. The twelve-year-old had darker skin, blue eyes, and brownish blonde hair. Everyone calls him "Kai."

The D'Ampelios' house was shaken by an earthquake. It was large enough that most of the houses around the area were damaged pretty badly. The D'Ampelios had to stay with a nearby friend for a few weeks while they were repairing the damage done on their home.

For school Kai was corresponding with a young Asian girl from Indonesia named Kasih Utari. In one of Kasih's letters, she let Kai know that she was living at an orphanage with her twin sister, Lestari Indah. When Kai told his adoptive parents about Kasih and Lestari, Madeleine and Damion knew exactly what they wanted to do. They adopted Kasih and Lestari, calling them Kasey and Stella.

Kai, while driving along one evening on the weekends on his return from a visit to his good friend who was in the hospital, was involved in a serious car accident. He was driving along when SMACK! his side of the car was hit and the car went skidding into a nearby ravine. The car started sliding into the ravine, but luckily for Kai a branch snagged the car before it could fall too far. By the time Kai and his car were rescued, Kai was unconscious. He was taken to the nearest hospital, which happened to be the one he had just left. When his friend hear about the accident, he and a nurse went to visit Kai. Kai was still unconscious. Damion and Madeleine were called and they packed up their crew and headed as quickly as they could to the hospital. Fortunately, Kai was safe, though he was injured badly enough that he needed to stay on at the hospital for a few more days.

Fort loves his little brother very, very much, and the male triplets are excited to have a little brother, especially Mark who is the little brother of Dan and Alex. Beth can't believe she is a big sister, and is always saying in wonder "I'm a big sister." Madeleine is very pleased with her youngest son.
