It doesn't feel overused to me, at least not where I live. It's too bad that it conjures up negative connotations for you.

Yes, it is too bad because I used to like it.
And I feel that Claire is an extremely popular name for babies/children here.

Where do you live?I've only known one Claire. That's why it doesn't feel too popular for me, but names have different popularities in different areas.
