[Opinions] Squeeeeeeeee!
I adore Frederica. Fred is such a counter-intuitive syllable for a girl's name. But Frederica is as girly-girl as they get. She dances, she prances, she floats through the room. You have to admire her self-confidence. (Disclosure: Frederica, nn Freda, is a family name for me.)I prefer the pronunciation of Fredrika with three syllables a tad bit more than four syllable Frederica. But I love the look of Frederica more. Does anyone think that I could get away with a three syllable pronunciation of Frederica? It's not a big deal. It's just on my if-I-were-in-charge-of-the-universe list.Femme-fatale-a-go-go:Frederica Cleo / Cleo Frederica -- zowie
Frederica Salome -- pushing it a tad
Frederica Carmen -- first rate, class personified
Frederica Pandora -- hmm, I can't put my finger on why I'm not getting into this one
Frederica Valeska -- va-va-va-voom
Theda Frederica -- vamp-a-licious
Misidora Frederica -- more information please; where does Musidora come from?
Ivy Frederica -- sold!
Eve Frederica -- nice
Lilith Frederica -- nice
Frederica Lorelei -- eh
Frederica Anna May -- very old world charm-y
Delilah Frederica -- I've never cared for Delilah, sorry
Frederica Marlene -- !!! the Blue Angel herself -- very Prussian
Frederica Mata Hari -- now you're just cheating

haha!I say Frederica with only three syllables. According to the site, that is the way english people say it, so I feel justified! I do feel like I ought to say Fredrika like "Fredrick-ah", so Frederica "fred-REE-ka" works well for me. I think Frederica Pandora doesn't work because it sounds like a pasta dish. Musidora was the stage name of Jeanne Roques, a French silent film actress. She's very vampy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MusidoraI was totally cheating with Mata Hari, you caught me.

Oh, wow. Great find. Thanks. Musidora and Polaire should hang out together in vamp heaven. :-) Frederica Musidora it shall be. What do you say to Frederica Polaire?"frederick-uh?" Ewwwww. I say Fredrika as "fred-REE-kuh" and Frederica as "fred-er-EE-kuh." I like both, I just prefer the three syllable way. It has more power in it. In no universe would I consider a "frederick-uh" pronunciation for any of them. I'm glad to hear others say Frederica with three syllables too. It gives me cover. Frederica Pandora = pasta dish made me choke on my lunch I was laughing so hard.
