I like it. It's reminiscent of Verity, which I love. Amity is a quite charming virtue name.
I wonder if anyone else has said it makes them think of "The Amityville Horror"? I never read other posts before I make mine, so I don't know. It's a thought that occurred to me after my initial reaction. I don't think it should be a deal-breaker on this name, though.

I like it. It's probably one of my favorite virtue names.
I love this name. I would definitely use it as a middle name. I tend to like longer names for the first name spot.
And I don't get the Amityville Horror association. Sure, I've heard it. But Amity gives me happy feelings not horror.

I know someone named Amity. She's about 35 years old. I know that when she told me her name the first time, I was like "What?" And she said, "Oh you know, like the movie Amityville Horror." I said, "Did your parents name you for the movie?" And she laughed and said that she was born before the movie came out.
I like the name and who cares if it has movie associations? How many kids have been named from movies or movie stars these days anyway?

Would the current generation know about "The Amityville Horror"? Maybe, with the remake fresh in their minds. I would avoid it for the teasing potential.
It's a pretty, underused name. I used to know an Amity, so I can easily imagine as a real person's name.
I used to really dislike this name, but I'm gradually warming up to it -- it's such a...friendly name!
My mind automatically jumps to 'The Amityville Horror'. If it wasn't for that I think it would be a lovely name.
Oh, I'd never heard of that before. That does put something of a damper on it, doesn't it?
I think it is a bad name for a human.
This used to be on favourites list and I am not too sure why I removed it from that list!
I like the name, I find it to be very pretty sounding, but I think I had trouble finding a middle name that suited it.
