[Opinions] Opinions on Silvester
WDYT of Silvester, I think it's delightfully old fashioned and would consider using it on a son (not that i'll be pregnant any time soon). So what do you think?

Well I prefer the spelling Sylvester but I still don't like it. It is too long, dated, and has no good nickname possibilities.

Silvester is terrific. It's one of those buried treasures that, when you meet one, makes you reasses the name entirely. If I ever met a Silvester it would likely become a favorite name. I don't know why that's true. I just know it is.I confess I'm already having a fling with Silvester's feminine counter-part, Silvestra. There's an English actress, Sylvestra LeTouzel. Her name makes me "squee!" when I see it in credits.

I couldn't picture her but I recognised the name so I just looked her up on IMDB. She's been in a lot of stuff including The Boy From Space as a child. We watched this when I was at school aged about 6 and I loved it! But it really scared me as well! I saw part of a repeat a couple of years ago and discovered it has a cult following. Obviously it looks really dated now. Sorry, way off topic but that just brought back memories.

I know! It almost makes you wonder if some Hollywood studio boss thought it up, right? She starred as Fanny Price in a 1980's BBC version of "Mansfield Park." Recently, I saw her in a supporting part in "Amazing Grace."

It's not really my style. It reminds me too much of the cat.

I do not like the sound of Silverster. Also, when I hear it I like of Silverter Stallion and Sylverster the cat.

I, too, think it delightfully old fashioned. It makes me think of mustachioed guys with monocles and a vest with a pocket watch. So trying to picture a name like that on a little boy is pretty much adorable. It has a nice earthy quality to it, too.

Silvester is one of my favourites. I agree that it's delightfully old-fashioned, as well as handsome and charming. The meaning is also very nice.

I love it. I do prefer Sylvester over Silvester, but both are lovely. I agree, it is delightfully old-fashioned. And the nickname "Sly" is actually really cute. Ohh now You've got me on a Sylvester kick. I wonder if my friends will hate it more or less than Casper? ;)
