Nick and Anna have birthed little Felicitas Brunhild. Little Lissy was given a name meaning "good luck" or "fortune" which is sometimes thought of as to mean "happiness" or "joy." They decided to have her middle name honor her Schoenberg grandmother, Brunhild. Back in Handralius, Brunhild Schoenberg was very popular... for being herself. She was kind, loving, peaceful, merciful, just, and virtuous in many other ways. Nick and Anna are hoping that their Lissy will grow up to be much like her Grandmother Brunhild.
The current happenings with the rival empires causes Anna to worry and Nick to be even more careful about his family. He is trying to shelter his little children from the outside world. As a result of the chaos that is imminent, Anna and Nick are turning to their religion, hoping against all hope that their little brood will be spared any harm that may result.
