I've decided to allow new sign-ups through round 5. You can either complete all rounds before you sign up if you want to sign up with children or you can start with the round you sign up on.

It has been two years since the discovery of the Spice Islands. Their race to keep hold of the islands has led Kriana to ignore unrest in their colony of Nadiz. This proved a grave error, and a full-scale rebellion has begun. What does the king do about this rebellion? How is Ardelus reacting to this? Are they helping? How is this rebellion affecting the ordinary people?
Meanwhile, your couple has had a daughter! Her FN must be a fully feminine name, either one that is not a version of an originally-male name or one that has been feminine so long it has lost its male connotations (keep the time period of the game in mind). Her MN honors the king's grandmother, who was quite popular and well-known as well as loved.

I decided to try something a little different for my new congrats. There will be two empires, complete with enough far-flung colonies and foreign diplomats to satisfy the most diverse naming tastes. These two empires will be rivals, sometimes friendly and sometimes not (think France and England during). There will be two royal couples, and the first people to claim them will get them (I won’t claim one unless no one else does, as that is unfair). At the beginning of each round I will post a VERY brief prompt, something like a treaty is being talked of or war has broken out or a new colony has been gained, and in your story you can tell how this has affected your family. Thus stories are greatly encouraged, but not required. In your post make it clear which empire you are part of. The first person posting as a native of somewhere sets the general naming language for that place (though you can branch out a little; i.e. Katarina or Marius in a mainly-English empire). The first to be from a colony may name it, and others may choose to be from that colony as well. I STRONGLY SUGGEST you read all other signups before you choose your homeland or category. All but poor commoners, nobles, and royal families may be foreign-born. Any noble or commoner may be in the military. The categories you may choose from are:
Noble family, Ardelusian or Krianan. Ladies-in-waiting, knights, family of the rulers, and such will be in this category.
Foreign diplomatic family, from anywhere, not only one of the two empires or colonies.
Influential common family, i.e. politician or philosopher.
Well-to-do common family, i.e. a merchant or prosperous farmer.
Poor common family, i.e. peasant or beggar or poor craftsman
Colonial family, anything from former nobility to the poorest commoner. Can use any language you want.
Palace staff family, anything from personal secretaries and stewards to kitchen maids and gardners.
Think Tudor/Elizabethan era for the feel of this game. Not necessarily English, just a mid-1500s to early-1600s type of world. Use this to inspire the names you choose, wherever they are from. I would suggest starting European for at least one empire and then branching out to more exotic places for the colonies, though this is not at all necessary. Let’s see how this works. Any type of couple goes, even adulterous, same-sex, or polyamorous. These can be an open secret (i.e. everyone knows but no one openly confronts) or totally secret, but a spouse must be implemented at some point fairly early in the game, if only as a cover.

Prince Propser and Duchess Apolline added another little princess to the royal house recently. Princess Madeleine is a vital baby girl with a wisp of black hair and blue eyes. She is as healthy as her elder sister was not, and though she is another girl-child, Prosper is happy to see that he can produce strong babes.
Prosper returned from the Spice Islands not quite a year ago, bronzed and more vibrant than Apolline had ever seen him. He delighted to see his wife again and romanced her more than he had ever done. Apolline was immensely cheered by this and laughs more freely. The couple has become the lovers they never were and Apolline quickly fell enciente, that is, with child.
Princess Adélaïde was fairly well when her father returned to Ardelus and seems to have warmed up to Prosper quickly, smiling warmly when she sees him and calling him "Papa." However, she has been ill during her mother's pregnancy and has been sequestered away from her parents for the safety of the new baby.

I would like to thank you profoundly for the letter you sent me. It is an unexpected honour you bestowed, and I assure you I am grateful for it.
Indeed, it has been a while since the Krianians have discovered the Spice Islands, and the race between Kriania and Ardelus have not ebbed in the least, as I am certain you have heard. Word has spread that the colony in Nadiz is also acting up. Now would hardly be an excellent time for couriers to rush back and forth between Kriana and Renzife, and I am quite touched by your insistence of continuing our correspondence.
As to how I and my family are doing, we have been doing better by the day. Lately, my wife Rosa has given birth to our second child, a daughter we named Lucrezia. We wish greatly to add her a second name (as is the Krianian custom) of Contessina, in honour of your grandfather Cosimo's wife, and of your own daughter. I seek your blessing to do so.
I am glad that everything is well in Renzife. I have caught word that you have sent a man on a voyage to the Spice Islands (his sister I happened to be acquainted with; Simonetta Calfucci), and I wish his voyage may bring only the best. It has also come to my attention about the numerous amounts of artists which have come to settle at Renzife, and my heart warms to think of them working on their masterpieces. I wish that only the best of blessings come upon Renzife, and especially to your and your house.

With the uprising in Nadiz being too close for comfort to the Spice Islands, life becomes just a little more dangerous for the McKowen's. They stay at home all of the time now and guard their home, from new colonists. With Kriana busy trying neutralize the rebellion on Nadiz, Ardelus has jumped on the oppourtunity and is advancing the colonization of the islands. During all of this the McKowen's welcomed a new little blessing Keira *Madailien*.

Meanwhile, having little communication with the King, Arthur decided to act on his own and round up a small group of Knights, leading them on a mission to help cease fighting in Nadiz. Arthur, not wanting to upset his wife, decided to tell her the night before their departure. To say that Emmeline was furious is an understatement, but to her surprise, no matter how much she yelled, fought, and pleaded with her husband to stay, for once did not give in to her demands. As a last resort, Emmeline begged her brother order Arthur to stay in Kriana, but to no avail.
So off they set, Arthur leaving behind his young family.
