Do you pronounce these the same or differently?
What do you think of them?
Reading The Count of Monte Cristo, I pronounced Edmond Dantes's name the same as Edmund which is cool. When I saw the film, they pronounced it more "ed-MOND" which I think I like even more.
Thoughts?

I pronounce them different
Edmund is ed-MUND and Edmond is ed-MOND. I LOVE Edmund, love the Mund sound, and I dislike Edmond-how it looks and how it's said.

Maybe a wee bit different, but pretty similar... I like Edward and Edwin better. The mond/mund ending makes them sound clunky and awkward and almost ugly.

Prefer ED-mund over ed-MOND, imo, but i think it's a super-cool name!

I say ed-MOND and ED-mund. I like them, but Edmund is a little whiny because of the one from Narnia.

I love Edmund. It's one of my all time favorite names, and has been for years. I pronounce Edmond like they say it in the film.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Edmund, it's been one of my favourite boy names since I was in the 3rd grade.
I don't like Edmond nearly as much. I do pronounce it differently, too. I'd say Edmond as "ehd-MON" and pronounce Edmund more like, "ED-minnd". I can say "ED-mund" but being Canadian, it sounds fake coming out of my mouth.

I pronounce them the same but prefer the way Edmond looks to Edmund.

I say them the same. The only Edmond I knew said it Ed-mund.

My preference is very strong for Edmund. The "u" looks so rugged and handsome. Love the name Edmund.
Edmond I do not like. It reminds me of this homophobic guy from my highschool whose middle name was Edmond who once hit a hockey puck into my eye in gym and laughed. Can't support.

I completely agree. Edmond reminds me of Almonds too, ew yuck. I hate that spelling, Edmund however is stunning.

Yeah. That is putting it very mildly. We WERE best friends in elementary for a few years, but once we were older and sexuality became the utmost concern for many, he made it his goal to torment me.

To me, Edmund is ED-mund and Edmond is ED-mahnd.
