Anna and
Nick Schoenberg are a young couple with two-year-old twins. They just recently moved, with their families, to Ardelus. Unfortunately, both of their sets of parents passed away just shortly after moving there.
Anna's mother had a three month old daughter when she get mortally sick; she died two months later. Her father was an infirm man who could barely keep his large family alive. When he contracted the terrible pestilence, his passing came much more quickly than his wife's: within a week of contracting the dreaded disease he was gone from this world.
Nick's mother passed away giving birth to a little boy; his father had already passed before they even left Handralius. The poor little children have to move about from house to house, between their elder siblings. The youngest ones, little

Anna and
Nick, simply because the elder ones already have large families of their own and do not wish to take care of even more little ones.
Anna and
Nick do not care, though, and love the idea of taking care of their younger siblings.
