I don't know, they just are. I immediately thought of two people in Edwardian dress in a frosty field by a bare-branched tree. I thought of propriety keeping passion in check, good manners and polish and poetry. I thought of Art Nouveau and its lush line art - so imaginative and beautiful, but so controlled and cold and flat.
