[Opinions] Amie and David
Amie and I have a bit of history, but I was listening to the song "Amie" today (which is why I originally started liking the name), and it sort of re-struck my interest. It's not the same as Amy. It's more elegant and mature to me, and makes me think of dark red roses. I've never tried any Amie combos...
Amie Belen
Amie Magali
Amie Miriam - too much mee?
Amie Naenia - ooh! and the depressing meaning of Naenia actually fits with how Amie affects me.
Amie Octavia
Amie Shoshannah
Amie Sibel (sih-BEL)
Amie Vianne / Vienne
I want to pair it with something equally deep and polished-wood-y, but those names are always hard to come by! Although Amie Naenia definitely captures the grief I feel with it. Other combo ideas?
Then at the doctor's yesterday, there was a couple who had a 1 year old David. (He also had newborn twin sisters, one was named Mary... I was too shy to ask the other's name, but wish I had!) Anyway, I've never thought much of David. It seemed so one-dimensional. I find it yawn worthy. But hearing a little boy called David made me want to reconsider, so I played around with it:
David Abner
David Austen - oh, I rather like this!
David Cathal - and this
David Errol
David Everard
David Garland
David Giulio
David Royal - this seems familiar... it isn't someone's name, is it?
David Ruarc
David Valentine - hmm, I like it!
A few of those I think changed my mind just a little. Anyone else have a good combo or colorful description?

I like Amie pronoucned like the French word, which I'd imagine is how you're wanting to pronounce it? I go back and forth on which I prefer, but in this case I'm saying it like Amy because that's how it's said in the song I referred to.
Oh, I thought of Amie Theodora when I was going through my list, but forgot to write it down! Thanks for reminding me, I think that's a pretty good one. It's a little too tough, but I like how red the whole thing is. And Amie Lourdes is gorgeous.
David Itai is cool.

Are you saying it differently than Amy?
Let me think. Ok.

I have so many Davids in my family, it holds little charm for me. It's like Michael. But I will say I like David Errol! It gives it a bit of life.

Yes, I'm saying it just like Amy. Although my first instinct is to pronounce it like the French word, and I'd like it that way, too.
Amie Eliza was one I'd thought of but it seemed too youthful. I thought Olive and Amie seemed like a good match, too, but somehow they don't fit together quite right for me. I do think Amie Eleanor (I'd like to remove the -e), Amie Georgiana, Nolwenn Amie, and Tegwen Amie are quite nice.
I think that's my problem with David, too. It's just everywhere. But for some reason I don't feel the same about Michael!
