Olivia's sudden burst of popularity most people will assume that it's a nickname - which is just patently unfair. I've tried so many times to talk my husband into it and he goes "Why not
Olivia?" (I hate
Olivia.) If you don't mind correcting people I say go for it. The idea of formal names instead of nicknames is dumb to me, honestly - unless it's something seriously childish like Gracie-Lou.
