[Opinions] Theodora or Isidora?
Which do you prefer? Why?Also: Isidora or Isadora? And what are your favourite nns for each name? At the moment my favourites are Dot and Issy respectively but I'd like some more options :-)Thanks!

That's a tough one. Both names are beautiful. I think I'd probably go with Theodora though because I like Thea as a nickname better than Dora, which could be a nickname for either. I don't really care for Izzy, which someone named Isadora might choose to go by.I like both Isidora and Isadora, but I prefer the look of Isadora.

Isidora (ETA)I love both Theodora and Isidora. But I have a thing for feminine "i" names so Isidora gets my vote.I don't like the Isadora spelling for two reasons. (1) It's the feminine form of Isidore. (2) Isadora looks like an Isabella knock-off.ETA: Ooops. I forgot the nns.Theodora --> Theda, Thea, Tedra, Teddie, Dorie, Dora, Dot /Dottie, DodieIsidora --> Isis, Izzy, Dorie, Dora

IsidoraI like the meaming of Isidora more than Theodora. I rather like Isidora more than Isadora. It seems sharper, more eagle-eyed and intelligent than Isadora, which is channelling Isabella too much.

Isidora / Isadora is nice. It's not something I'd use but I'd be excited to see it on someone else's child. Re: Isadora, I know technically, it's not the correct spelling but it looks better to me.Overall, Theodora is my favorite here.

I prefer Theodora to Isidora, Isadora to Isidora and Isadora to Theodora. I wouldn't use a nickname for any of these names but I like Dot.

Isadora over Theodora
Theodora over IsidoraI just really like Isadora (it was my #1 name a few years ago), and while I like Theodora, I just prefer Isadora over it. There's no real reason why, because I like the letter and the structures of both names.
Something about Isidora looks 'off' to me. Or maybe it's because I prefer Isidor over Isadore for a boy. For nicknames, I think Dot is great for Theodora! I also love Dora.
Sadie is my pick for Isadora
Maybe Sidda for Isidora? It's (Sidda) familiar enough, it seems. I think Issy works as well. Maybe Isis, Iris, Rory (I hate this on a girl, but I do think it'd work as a nn).

Theodora, which has been totally growing on me since I made a friend by this name :)Plus I think Isadora's much nicer than Isidora.

Theodora gets my vote, only because I adore the nn Teddy on a girl. I'm not a fan of Isadora or any of its nicknames, but here are some options that I can think of:Theodora:
Theo
Thea
Teddy
Dory
DoraIsadora:
Isa
Dory
Dora
Sadie (a bit of a stretch, but I actually like this one!)

I like Dori better w/ an i... Looks more fem name-like as Dori. Dory's only 1 letter away from Dorky... which would be quite unfortunate... Kinda like when 1 of my old students forgot the o in Hello Kitty. Oops.

Theodora, NN Thea, is my favorite. Isidora is okay, but not as nice.

I currently prefer Isidora to Theodora; however, I love both names. Also, I used to prefer Isadora to Isidora, but now I prefer the more etymologically sound Isidora.I think Dora is my favorite nickname for both Theodora and Isidora.

I adore both Theodore and Isidore, the female versions just never seemed to pack the same kind of awesomeness. Theodora seems very, very bookish; I know a girl named Isadora who was teased from about the ages five to sixteen by being called Wizardora. I think Isidora over all. I link the I-a vowel change in Isadora, but it looks a bit cumbersome and has the word 'sad' in it. Petty, I know. I prefer Isidora. I think. Issy is a nice nickname (definitely not spelt Izzy) but I'm not so fond of Dot. Thea's an okay nickname for Theodora, or Tea (I actually know a Theodora who went by this. She liked to pronounce it like the drink, which was kinda nifty when you got used to it, but the 'correct' pronounciations given are also nice). I hate Dora. I honestly can't think of any other suggestions.

Def. Theodora, though I still consider it rather GP. I think Isidora (either sp.) is quite ugly and even makes Isabel(le) (which I'm tired of) more appealing. Used to joke about the combo Theodora Josephine w/ nn Teddy-Jo. I'm not much of a nn person. I guess Dot's ok, but Issy is ugly... and kinda snake-like.

I prefer Isadora over Isidora because it sounds softer and also looks more right to me. And I do like both Isadora and Theodora, and I guess I could use both for honoring purposes (honoring Isidor and Theodor), but if I had a daughter right now and had to choose between those names, I would go for Isadora. I don't like any nickname for it and I wouldn't use any. For Theodora I like Thea and Theia. Maybe Dora.

My fave is Isadora and I'd actually use it. My fave nicknames are Dora and Isa ('EE-sah'), but I'd usually use the whole name.
Theodora just sounds harsh and I hate Theodore so that doesn't help any. I do like Thea.

I prefer Isadora, Theodora just seems like an attempt to feminise Theodore. Hate Izzy/Issy and Dora. I wouldn't worry about a nn and let one evolve naturally.
