Love!
Yes, I ONLY like it for a boy. On a girl it loses it's class. It's masculine in my eyes and always has been, just because it ends in 'a' and a lot of westerners names their daughter this, doesn't mean it's feminine.
Alexander nn Sasha is handsome and so very european chic, I love it:)

Thing is that there are both masc. and fem versions of Alexander and Alex and Sandy are used on both genders as nns, so Sasha's not THAT unnatural for a girl... no more unnatural than Toni for Antonia which is just a fem form of Antony or Anthony. We have Alexandra, Alejandra and Alessandra. Therefore, if Sandy and Alex can be used as nns for both genders, I see nothing strange about using Sasha the same way. I knew a Fr. Cdn. guy named Sasha and a very pretty teenage girl in my bunkhouse at camp with a rather pleasant disposition named Sasha. It worked on both of them. Don't know if the boy got teased at all for it, but I don't recall the girl having any problems w/ it. It's not like calling a girl Mason or Harvey or Hank that are obviously masc. and don't have a fem. form to them as far as I know.

ooh i love both Sasha and Alexander
Only for a boy
I think it's totally handsome and I love it. I do like it as a nn for Alexander - I don't think Sasha would work well in the US just plain.

It's amazing!
YES YES YES!
I love Sasha on a boy! It's so handsome!

I really like it, but would much prefer to see it as a nn. So Alexander nn Sasha is a major plus-- probably my favorite nn for the otherwise boring Alexander.
my boy puppy is a Sasha :)
Naming him Sasha has made me realize how tricky unisex names really are. I mean, I bet it would be easier on a human child, because you could put him in boy clothes, but everyone thinks dog-Sasha is a girl. He is very beautiful, it is his own fault! We put a blue collar on him, but nobody notices. His middle name is Mikhail.
I love Alexander nn Sasha. I like just plain Sasha too, Or Sascha.

I like it for both sexes, but I prefer it for a girl.
Sasha is one of the few names I love for both genders
And would potentially use on either a son or daughter of my own. I don't think there is any other name I would consider actually using for either gender. It would only ever be as a nn for Alexander or Alexandra though. I think it is a soft and handsome nn for the strong and forceful Alexander and a calm and beautiful one for the regal Alexandra.

I don't mind it on a boy, but much prefer it on a girl. It has been quite common here for boys in the 80s, usually spelled Sascha (I live in Germany) and I find it a bit dated on a boy while I think it's fresh and really lovely on a girl.
I would use it on its own, not as a nickname for Alexander. Alexander "Sasha" might make sense in Russia but it doesn't in most other countries and I dislike it when there doesn't seem to be a logical connection between the nickname and the full name. So it does work in Russia but not here. Same with Natalia "Natasha" or Tatyana "Tanya", they work better as independent names outside of Russia.

Sasha is one of the few names I like about equally for a boy and a girl. I also like Sacha and Sascha :)

I heard a Lady call her son yesterday, and his name was Sasha! i think its nice on a boy.
Yes, Sasha is lovely on a boy if it's a nickname for Alexander. It's a very popular nickname in the Eastern European countries
It's ok. I like Sasha better on a girl, but it works ok on either imo. Not a big fan of nns and Sasha could stand on its own, but it's ok w/ Alexander as the main name, I suppose.
I don't care for it on a boy really, likely to do overexposure on this board, because I used to find it alright. This is probably in the same manner that women on the board do not like Theo for a girl, which I love.
