I love Ariadne. I think it has a rich history and lovely sound. I also like that it is uncommon, yet recognizable. I've only met one person with the name.

It's one of my current favorite names! I also love he character in Greek mythology: she helps Theseus escape the Labyrinth (smart and resourceful), perseveres after he abandons her (those fickle Greek heroes :-]), and eventually marries the God Dionysos. Yeah, I'd say she was pretty successful!

I dislike a lot of Greek mythological names. They sound too Mary Sue-ish for my tastes.

I like it a lot but it isn't something I'd use myself. It is a strong and elegant name and I love the mythological association. I also really like the more approachable nn Ari. Now that I think about it, even Addy could work and I love the nn Addy. That actually makes me like it more now
