A year after Liya came home, several things have changed. For one, Ella is no longer jealous of her, in fact, they're best friends. This made Gali a little jealous because they had been five kids and she was the odd one out. Maya and Nick always tried their hardest to include her in everything they did but it was too hard, eventually, though, Gali settled for the big sister role, always monitoring the smaller girls.
Another thing that has changed is that two little girls were adopted into the family.
The first little girl was the one the family had meant to adopt. Halyna Sofiya was a little Ukranian girl. Her father had died while working in the construction business just after she was born and her mother had drunk her way to an early grave. She didn't have much memory of her parents, since she had been taken away from her mother when she was just a baby.
Lina is a happy little girl. She was adored at the orphanage and she is adored by the Davids' too. She gets along best with Kate.
Kate is the other little girl the family adopted. When they had completed their first adoption, they had looked into Adam's past and decided to find his sister, but his sister had seemed to have disappeared. As it turns out, she had been taken to Moldova by a distant cousin, who then proceeded to dump her at the orphanage. Her father had been Moldavian so she had to be raced in the Moldavian orphanage, right?
Kate and Nick were so happy to be reunited, they had both been so worried about each other. Kate gets along with everyone, having Maya's laid back personality. Lina clings to her and truthfully, she doesn't mind it. At the orphanage she had always helped care for the little children and this was kind of like it, only better.
Maya and Nick are entering 8th grade
Gali is entering 4th grade
Ella and Kate are entering 1st grade
Liya is entering preschool
Lina is entering preschool
Dan and Shiri share a room
Nick has his own room
Maya and Gali share a room
Kate and Lina share a room
Ella and Liya share a room
There is one kitchen, dining, and a computer nook plus a playroom and office
